About Us
Hope Adelaide Inc.

In the early 1990s Sister Patricia Pak Poy RSM met with Burmese refugees who had settled in Adelaide. Together they decided to look for funds and ways to assist those who had fled the repressive regime in Burma, hoping to find a better life elsewhere. Hope Adelaide Inc. was born.

Our mission is to:

• assist people in less developed countries, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, through relief and development programs

• assist people at home and abroad with alleviation of poverty and greater realization of human rights

We are a group of volunteers - a mixed bag of men and women, young and old, ethnically, politically and religiously diverse - joined together through a common desire to help less privileged people live as safe and well-resourced lives as we do.

Our programs are funded through grants, fundraising activities, donations and membership.

Hope Adelaide Inc. recognises the personal dignity and rights of children towards whom it has a special responsibility and duty of care and respect. Hope Adelaide, its members and those associated with it, undertake to create a safe environment for children and young people and to prevent their physical, sexual or emotional abuse. Our child protection policy, guidelines and procedures are available on request.
